I Completed my B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal, with a CGPA of 3.54/4.00. When I embarked on my journey at MIT, little did I know that the next four years would shape not only my career but also my approach to life and learning. Completing my Mechanical Engineering here was a remarkable experience filled with academic challenges, hands-on learning, and the development of lifelong friendships.
The rigorous curriculum at MIT equipped me with a solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering. Starting with Engineering Mathematics and Mechanics in my first year, I was introduced to the essentials of engineering, which set the stage for more advanced studies in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science in the subsequent years. Each semester brought a new set of subjects, from Machine Design and Turbo Machines to cutting-edge courses in Mechatronics and CAD/CAM, broadening my perspective on the multifaceted world of mechanical engineering.
The practical workshops and labs, especially courses like Machine Tool Operation and Workshop Practices, were particularly impactful. They allowed me to apply the theories I learned in class to real-life scenarios, reinforcing concepts and enhancing my problem-solving skills. The subjects I studied were designed to gradually advance in complexity, helping me build on what I had previously learned and giving me a comprehensive understanding of the discipline.
The final year project was a culmination of all that we had learned over the years. It provided an opportunity to apply our knowledge to real-world problems and showcase our skills.
The industrial training/tour in the eighth semester gave me valuable exposure to the industry, helping understand how our theoretical knowledge translates to practical applications in the real world. I had the lifetime opportunity to undergo my Internship at my dream company. During this internship, I learnt how automation and technology play a crucial role in any manufacturing company. This internship had the most profound impact in my life that allowed me to learn, understand and set my GOAL of my Life.
MIT, Manipal was not just about academics. The campus life and vibrant community provided a conducive environment for personal growth and exploration. From engaging in various events like Tech-Tatva, Fahrenheit 451, Limca Book of records event, I found a balance between studies and extracurricular activities.
Manipal’s campus life taught me the importance of discipline, resilience, and the ability to adapt to diverse situations. The challenges I faced, whether academic or personal, prepared me to handle real-world situations with a calm and collected approach.
Reflecting on my time at MIT, I am grateful for the knowledge I gained, the friendships I made, and the person I became. The years at Manipal was a period of immense personal and professional growth that prepared me for the challenges of the professional world. The knowledge, skills, and experiences I gained during these four years have been instrumental in shaping my career and continue to influence my approach to life. As I move forward in my career, I carry with me the lessons learned and the memories cherished, forever grateful to MIT, Manipal, for laying the foundation of my journey in engineering and beyond.
